Do I need my own equipment?
No. Training happens on Pioneer DJ gear at the Pekay Academy studio in Block 7, Gaborone. Rehearsal time on the academy's CDJs and mixers can also be booked by the hour.
How does the Beginner DJ Course work?
It's private, one-on-one mentorship: 8 weeks, two one-hour sessions a week, across 8 modules. You choose two genres to focus on, and the course ends with a final recorded video set.
What does it cost?
The Beginner DJ Course is P2,300.00 for the full course. A payment plan of P1,150.00 a month is available. Rehearsals are P100.00 per hour.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. The Beginner DJ Course includes an official DJ certificate.
Is the academy accredited?
Pekay Academy states that it is BQA / HRDC accredited. See the accreditation page for details.
How do online course access and payments work?
Create an account, pay using the instructions the academy gives you, then upload your proof of payment. Uploading proof doesn't unlock anything on its own: an academy admin reviews it first. Once approved, your course appears in your student portal.
What if my proof of payment is rejected?
Your portal will show 'Payment requires attention' with a note explaining why. You can upload a new proof from the same course. Nothing you submitted is deleted.
Does applying guarantee a place?
No. The academy reviews each application and contacts you about availability and next steps.
